If you’re posting, tweeting or even TikToking, the myriad of possible social media platforms can be a minefield - if you don’t know what to watch out for! Whether your firm has an established social media presence or is considering entering the online conversation, join Joyce Watson, CPSM, Principal of Marketing, and Erin Hoy, Social and Digital Media Coordinator, both of Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, to discuss the benefits, risks, and best practices of social media.

Joyce Watson

CPSM

Joyce Watson, CPSM serves as Principal of Marketing for Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, a consulting engineering firm specializing in Building MEP, Industrial MEP, Commissioning, and Water/Wastewater services with offices in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and Bryan/College Station. Her major areas of responsibility include firmwide marketing strategy and corporate communications, brand management, promotional activities, and CRM oversight.

 Joyce is gregarious and quickly builds rapport with clients and peers alike. Having transitioned into AEC marketing following her time as a Teach for America Corps member, she is methodical in her approach and uses her training as a writer and researcher to address client needs and tell Cleary Zimmermann’s story across all platforms.

Joyce is actively involved in the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). In 2020, Joyce was named Board Member of the Year as Membership Director of SMPS San Antonio, for her work driving recruitment, retention, and improving the member experience. She serves the greater San Antonio community on the boards of the Young Women's Leadership Academy and TXReads and is a member of the Junior League of San Antonio. In 2023, she is also serving as Chair of the first annual Real Estate Council of San Antonio (RECSA) Community Project, in support of SAMMinistries.

 Joyce graduated summa cum laude  and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in French. She is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM)

Erin Hoy

As Social and Digital Media Coordinator, Erin leads in all aspects of social media marketing. Her responsibility for the firm is to showcase Cleary Zimmermann's culture across all platforms, in turn supporting brand awareness and recruitment.        

Erin joined Cleary Zimmermann this past year with a bachelor’s degree from The University of Minnesota and over three years of experience in social media marketing. After only a few months with the firm, Erin took the reins on the company’s Tik Tok and brought it from 200 views to 5 million in just a few months.

 Erin is actively involved in SMPS San Antonio, championing social media efforts on the Communications Committee. Erin’s advocacy for social media marketing in the AEC industry has expanded across Texas with her formation of the peer group, “SMCs in AEC.” This cohort is an opportunity for other Social Media Coordinators to collaborate and share ideas.

Erin hopes to continue advocating for social media marketing in the AEC industry and beyond.
